I've had the opportunity* to read a lot of blogs over the past year, and one of the most significant trends I've seen is art-a-day self-challenge. Not significant in he everyone's-doing-it sort of way, but significant in the way it has actually transformed the lives and/or artwork of the people doing it.

Now, I'm not looking for a life transformation, but I would like to put my nascent drawing abilities to to the test, to force myself to become proficient at something instead of just dabbling here and there.

So. starting June 1st, I've decided to undertake a 30-day art-a-day challenge, where each day I will draw and post a new face. The posting part is important, I think, as it adds a level of self-accountability.

I've chosen "faces" as my subject, because 1) I've always wanted to be able to do portraits of the characters I've created (writing and gaming) and been envious of those who could**; and 2) I've drawn quite a few faces over the past year or so and while some of them are decent, I'd like for them all to be decent or even better than decent.
